Hello, I am a member of the Philanthropy Boot Camp in Portage High School. I am 16 and a junior in high school, this would be my first year in boot camp. I am writing to you from the group at PHS. The boot camp so far is amazing! For being a first year student I really wish I knew about this group when it first started. We have amazing guest speakers that come in and talk about our community and what Philanthropy really means. Our past guest speakers have been: Dan Massa, Chad Bush, and our recent one has been Chris Mahlmann. I would like to make a big shout out to them! Another shout out goes to the Indiana Flame Services for all the wonderful great food they bring in! They help us out a lot!
The Boot Camp has been very inspirational about everything we look at in our community, at first I didn't know that much about our community but thanks to the lessons we learn each week I learn to love Portage more and more everyday! We are looking forward to our first field trip to Portage City Hall. I am very excited to be able to go and know the people who run my town. Thanks again to all the Indiana Flame guys and to our guest speakers!
