The La Porte County (IN) Genealogical Society will meet at 6 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at ‘Round the Clock restaurant. Members and guests will share a holiday meal and celebrate the selection of a new Genealogist of the Year. The award will be announced by the committee composed of Gloria Arndt, society president Dorothy Palmer, and Genealogist/Historian Fern Eddy Schultz. Each year the committee accepts nominations for an award honoring an individual who has promoted the study of genealogy in La Porte County by publications, programs, and/or by assisting others in their search for source records; and presents the award at the December meeting. Past recipients include Donna Nelson, Patricia Gruse Harris, Fern Eddy Schultz, and Gloria D. Arndt.
