Grateful

Written by Jane Scupham, principalgrateful

Over the weekend I read that November has been designated as the month to be grateful. I’m not sure who designated it, but it certainly got me thinking about being grateful and how to be aware of all the blessings that God has bestowed on me. I also thought about how being grateful is a state of mind that can, and should, be cultivated. All too often I take all the good in my life for granted and it is only when some adversity comes along that I realize just how blessed I am. Somewhere I read about keeping a “Gratitude” journal where you record each day some of the things for which you are grateful. With that in mind, I walked around the school asking students, faculty, staff, and visiting parents to tell me something they were grateful for. Below (in no certain order) is the beginning of the Saint Paul Catholic School’s Gratitude Journal for November. If you would like to add your ideas to the list, please send them to me via Fast Direct and we’ll add it to next week’s list.
