Christmas break is coming up! Marian High School's last day of school was December 20. With Christmas break approaching that can only mean one thing, everyone’s minds were on finals.
On Wednesday, December 18, students are to be in at 8 a.m and end at 12:30 p.m. On Thursday, December 19, and Friday December 20, students needed to be at school at 9 a.m. and end at 12 p.m. Many students enjoy that they don't have to have all finals in one day and they don't have full days either.
“I feel lucky that finals are separated into three days,” said Marian Student Maggie Jordan.
On December 20, the Knights played Lake Central High School.
“I think this is a great opportunity for the basketball players to get to practice indoors during break,” Jordan said.
Classes will resume on January 6. See you then, Knights!
What's coming up?
Marian’s new Agriculture Club has some exciting field trips coming up. The Agriculture Club is helping students learn about the world around them and how farming works. Marian has a motto, learn, serve, lead. Although it may not seem like it, the Agriculture Club benefits Marian in many ways. By going on field trips, the club is serving the community and helping out as frequently as possible.
In this next year, 2025, some field trip plans include a horse farm, a garden center, and much more. On these field trips, the club members go to assist and help out whenever and wherever the help might be needed. Farmers can be very busy and have a lot of things to do. By going to help the farmers, they are able to assist in farm chores making a less stressful day for the farmer.

She has a great love for her students and God. Dlugosz also has a husband who also works at Marian in the religion department. In her free time, Dlugosz likes to babysit her four grandchildren and craft. She especially enjoys cross-stitching and decorative painting.

At a school full of intelligent adolescents, Aryana Grill stands out as a woman of God and a great model of Marian’s school motto.
Grill followed in her brother's footsteps by attending the same Catholic grade school from preschool through eighth grade. Grill then followed the path of her brothers and her dad who all attended Marian. She enjoys being able to bond with her family over their time at Marian.
“I love that I get to follow in my family's footsteps,” Grill said.
Grill is also part of a variety of clubs, one of them being Right to Life.
“I love that I can take part in something I believe in and help others out with it as well,” Grill said.
Grill loves supporting what she believes in and serving as a sister in Christ. Grill is also part of another big school event, Spirit Knight. Spirit Knight is a one-day event where students get together to compete. The students are split up into two teams, blue and white, separated by alphabet. Grill is part of the blue team and takes part in the dances. She also makes sure to cheer for her team from the student section.
“I like the people,” Grill said. “They're so welcoming, and it's a great experience to learn more about my peers.”
