Health Insurance Marketplace Q&A at La Porte Library

La-Porte-County-Public-LibraryThe La Porte County Public Library will host a Health Care Reform Seminar at the Main Location in La Porte on Thursday, September 19, beginning at 6:30pm.

In March 2010, President Obama signed a comprehensive health reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), into law. The intention of the law is to make preventive care more accessible and affordable for many Americans. Coverage begins January 2014, and open enrollment begins October 1.

There are many questions regarding the new Health Insurance Marketplace, as it is being referred to, such as who is eligible, what are the benefits, how does one sign up, what is the difference in levels of the plan, and more. Mary K. Senderak of General Insurance Services will explain how the Marketplace will work, address these questions and provide information on where to learn more.

The public is encouraged to attend this free program addressing the Affordable Care Act that will take place in the Large Meeting Room of La Porte County Library.
