Indiana Beverage sponsors 14th annual Valpo Brewfest for one last summer celebration
The 14th annual Valpo Brewfest will be held in Central Park Plaza on Saturday, September 28. Tickets for the event will not only give people a chance to craft their own beer but also an opportunity to support an organization – Valparaiso Events – that works year round to create a positive community.
Jade Pullins, special events and promotions at Indiana Beverage, is prepared for a busy weekend that will provide a lot of fun opportunities for the Valparaiso community.
“People who come to the event can sample more than 200 unique styles of beer from America’s best craft brewers,” Pullins said. “They’ll also be able to enjoy live music and a great afternoon with friends. It’s an awesome celebration every year.”
The celebration will contain mainstage musical performances by Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers. Having performed at other festivals such as Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, and Summer Camp, The Rainbow Seekers are bringing a rapturous performance to Central Park Plaza.
While the main event for Valpo Brewfest takes place on Saturday, residents can stop by the day before for the official kick off to the weekend festivities. Twas The Night Before Brewfest is a traditional German-styled biergarten event that provides a night in a different culture.
There will be a German band, beer, and snacks to set the mood on Friday, September 27. Twas The Night Before Brewfest will also feature Mindfully Blind, a band from Bloomington, and Kevin’s Pretzel Factory.
Once it turns to Saturday, things will only kick up a notch. The event will contain beers from 27 different breweries. The breweries that are attending this year include 450 North Brewing, Aftermath Cidery & Winery, Bad Dad Brewing Co., Bell’s Brewery Inc., Boston Brewing Co., Dogfish Head Brewery, Half Acre Beer Co., Happy Thursday, Lagunitas Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing Co., New Holland Brewing, New Oberpfalz Brewing, Odd Side Ales, Paulaner Brewery, Pigeon Hill Brewing Co., Pilot Project Brewing, Pipeworks Brewing Co., Press, Revolution Brewing Co., Shoreline Brewery, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Sun King Brewery, Two Brothers Brewing Co., Upland Brewing, Vander Mill, War Pigs Brewpub, and Woodchuck Cider.
“It’s awesome for us to be able to participate in this annual event,” Pullins said. “It’s also pretty cool to see a bunch of our breweries have this opportunity and give the people here a chance to sample a lot of different beers.”
Even though the theme for the weekend is drinking, there are still opportunities for people of all ages to come by and enjoy the fun. Not only will there be live music, but also plenty of food trucks to enjoy.
As a sponsor of the event, Indiana Beverage is thrilled to be a part of a long-standing tradition that takes place in its hometown of Valparaiso.
“We have 30 of our tables that will be at the event,” Pullins said. “We do our best to make sure the tables are stocked and staffed with pourers so the event can run smoothly for the guests. It’s great to bring so many people together to try new products and celebrate a fun time.”
This event is one of the most beloved in the Valparaiso community because it serves as the ultimate end cap to the summer. Indiana Beverage is looking forward to sharing the Central Park Plaza space with so many breweries and local residents for these weekend festivities.
