Notre Dame Football has announced the addition of Ja’Juan Seider (pronounced JAY-wahn cider) as the new associate head coach and running backs coach, effective upon completion of the University’s standard hiring process.
“Ja’Juan is an exceptional offensive mind,” said Head Coach Marcus Freeman. “His proven ability to recruit and develop top-tier running backs and his knack for utilizing multiple backs within the offense make him an outstanding fit for our program.”
Seider brings nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience, including seven successful seasons at Penn State, where he helped guide standout backs like Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton to record-breaking performances. In 2024, the dynamic duo became the first in Penn State history to each rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.
A former conference player of the year at Florida A&M, Seider has coached a roster of NFL talent, including Miles Sanders, Geno Smith, and Pat White. His leadership and recruiting prowess have earned him national recognition, including Big Ten Recruiter of the Year in 2023.
Prior to his time at Penn State, Seider served as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator at Florida, where his backs amassed over 1,500 rushing yards. His coaching journey also includes successful stints at West Virginia and Marshall, where he mentored several future NFL players.
Known for his dynamic coaching style and ability to connect with players, Seider’s addition marks a new chapter for Notre Dame’s storied football program.
