“I really want to give back to people who are trying to help themselves, but need that little extra bit of help,” Leeth said.

The donation from Jersey Mike’s Crown Point will help fund United Way Northwest Indiana’s Level Up program, which focuses on providing financial wellness support to Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) families. These efforts provide the opportunity for those struggling to improve their financial situations, earn better-paying jobs, and move toward long-term economic stability.

“It's really important to work with businesses within our community. Building those partnerships allows us to create opportunities for our Level Up clients through the donations of our partners,” Shannon Buck, regional account executive for United Way Northwest Indiana, said.

This act of giving aligns with Jersey Mike's long-standing values of supporting communities. Leeth and his team believe giving back is not only a moral duty but a foundational part of Jersey Mike’s mission.

“Part of our mission statement is ‘We don’t give to get, we give to give,’” he said. “We want to make a difference, so giving back to our communities is big for us, and not only is it the right thing to do, at the end of the day it's about doing kind things to help each other.”

Partnerships between nonprofits and local businesses are essential to providing resources for those in need. Creating meaningful relationships is one of their many approaches.

“We engage with the organizations on a one-on-one basis, whether it be a workplace campaign or fundraising campaign. We also create partnerships and opportunities that are best suited for those organizations in order to have a positive outcome with those campaigns,” Buck said

As Jersey Mike’s and United Way Northwest Indiana continue to work together, they hope their partnership inspires the community. They have a shared belief in the power of helping others. By supporting programs like Level Up, Jersey Mike’s is playing a crucial role in empowering families to overcome challenges and achieve financial freedom.
