Korellis is a trusted name in construction around the Region thanks to decades of quality roofing work delivered across industries of all kinds. Over the last decade, Korellis has grown and incorporated new trades beyond traditional roofing into its workforce: wall panels, sheet metal, and masonry are all now core components of Korellis’ business.
“We wanted to complement what we’ve done for many, many years on the roofing side,” Phil Junge, director of sales at Korellis, said. “Our reputation precedes us, and we’ve been a longstanding member of the community. The goal is to bring the level of professionalism and expertise that we’re known for to different levels of construction.”
Larry Millefoglie, sheet metal project manager and estimator at Korellis, joined the team about eight years ago. At the time, the focus on growing Korellis to include more trades was starting to take shape and they wanted experts on hand to help lead the initiative.
“They hired me because I’d been in the field for 27 years installing architectural metals; what we call wall panels,” he said. “They wanted me to help broaden and develop their wall panel division, and now I do most of the architectural metals here. We do everything from standing seam roofs to slate roofs to shingle roofs – we do all kinds of roofs as well as composite paneling, metal wall panels, and insulated metal panels. We cover the variety of everything that’s out there.”
The addition of experts such as Millefoglie means that Korellis provides expertise in the entire building envelope. The company is equipped to handle commercial and industrial buildings from top to bottom.
“We’re able to provide our customers with package deals,” Millefoglie said. “They don’t have to go back and forth between multiple contractors. Roofing, metal, wall panels, it all comes together when you work with Korellis. It’s been a key, successful role for us.”
Korellis did not stop there, however, and expanded its services to include a still-growing team dedicated to masonry and concrete restoration. This crew is capable of anything from brick repair and chimney rebuilding to masonry waterproofing and environmentally friendly chemical washing.
“We have service crews dedicated to all trades,” Millefoglie said. “We’re committed to serving our customers as soon as needed.”
Broadening the scope of its work has not diminished Korellis’ focus on quality. All of the company’s work is self-performed by highly-trained union tradespeople. It never subcontracts, and many of its office staff are former field workers themselves.
“The majority of us in the office have good connections with the union trades, and that’s helped us a lot,” Millefoglie said. “These relationships have made our growth a smooth transition. We’re able to dedicate carpentry work to carpenters, roofing to roofers, and so on while working well together.”
Junge noted that while Korellis will continue to grow, the company will never compromise the quality of its service.
“People recognize our red and white trucks as representing a company with a great reputation,” Junge said. “I’ve been with Korellis for 27 years, and when I started working here, we had a staff of about 45 people. Today, we’re close to 200 people. It’s truly amazing.”
