The South Bend Adams Eagles and the La Porte Slicers went head-to-head in the Mishawaka Sectional Championship Game on Saturday night.
Slicers Coach Sarah DeShone is fresh in her first season as head of the Slicers, making this sectional run one for the books.
Both teams came out ready to fight for the title as the game was neck-and-neck at the half with the Eagles leading by two. The teams seemed to be evenly matched, neither willing to give up on their season.
But something happened in the locker room at halftime as the Slicers came out with a new fire lit under them. The team started rallying and didn't stop until the game was over. The Slicers took home the sectional trophy with a win over the Eagles after the game ended in a final score of 46 to 33.
Be sure to check out the Slicers at home on February 13 as they look to take on the Regional Tournament.
