La Porte County Public Library kicks off Summer Reading Program

La Porte County Public Library kicks off Summer Reading Program

At the La Porte County Public Library, we are helping kids discover a universe of stories with our summer reading program and activities. We've got a summer full of inspiration, exploration, and adventure planned and we want every child in La Porte County to join in the fun. Summer reading is critical for students to retain knowledge and skills learned in the previous school year. Students who don't read during the summer are at risk of falling behind their classmates. You can help your child avoid this by making sure they take time to read during summer break.

Summer Reading Program Sign-Up!

Go to laportelibrary.org and sign up today! Record your reading times, play games, earn digital badges, and have fun reading all summer long.

Pack-A-Sack!

Bring a camp chair or blanket, and meet us and the Mobile Library at Plaza 618 Downtown (at the corner of Monroe and Lincolnway) for stories, activities, adventures, and more!

Read and Bead is returning!

Stop in any of our seven locations or the mobile library, read for 15 minutes and pick up a bead to fill up your necklace or bracelet. The more you read-the more beads you’ll earn throughout the summer.
