La Porte Jaycees Host 11th Annual Backpack Drive

lp-jaycees-2015-Backpack-Drive-FlyerThe La Porte Jaycees are hosting a backpack drive for students in need at Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in the La Porte and New Prairie school systems. Just in time for back to school, the Jaycees are asking the community to help pitch in. Items that are needed for this drive include backpacks, any type of school supply, and toiletries. This year, there are many ways that you can help donate supplies for students in need.

On Sunday, August 9 from 10am-2pm, help the Jaycees Pack a Backpack at a drive through school supply drop off. This will be located at the La Porte Jaycees Clubhouse, 406 Clay Street in La Porte. Anyone donating school supplies or monetary donations on August 9th will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card!

Supplies can be dropped off during business hours at many area banks and businesses. You can drop off school supplies or monetary donations at Bethany Church, Purdue Federal Credit Union, 1st Source Bank, Centier Bank, and First Trust Credit Union.

School supplies can be dropped off at Horizon Bank and Fifth Third Bank in La Porte, no monetary donations are accepted. Donations for the 11th Annual Backpack Drive are being accepted at area businesses through August 7. Monetary donations and school supplies can also be dropped off at the Jaycees Clubhouse on Sunday August 9 from 10am-2pm.
