Tuesday night, the Lake Central Indians softball team hosted the Crown Point Bulldogs for Regionals. The teams held each other at zero runs until the bottom of the sixth inning, when #21 Bree Mitchell scored the first run for the Indians, after #30 Jolie Adams hit a double. Adams went on to score the second run, after a hit from #13 Sydney Doloszycki.
In the top of the sixth, #2 Emily Phillips scored the first run for the Bulldogs. The Indians scored one more run in the bottom of the sixth, leaving the final score at 3-1 for the Indians. Head coach Jeff Sherman commented on what he thought the team did particularly well.
“I thought we made some adjustments after some tough at-bats in the first four innings, and really came through with some really great swings there in the fifth.”
Lake Central will play Columbia City this Saturday, June 5 at 11:00 am. Crown Point finished their season with a record of 28-4 overall.
