Lemonade Stand to Benefit Childhood Cancer Research

NICK-LogoThe Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation will be hosting their 4th annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Celebrate Schererville Festival Parade on Saturday, June 23.

Operating the stand is the organizations signature activity and supports the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

NICK Foundation co-founder Donna Criner said, “We want to carry on Alex’s legacy by operating lemonade stands and donating the proceeds to her foundation. We hope to one day have a lemonade stand on every community’s parade route, every summer, in all of Northwest Indiana.

Volunteers will be serving fresh squeezed lemonade, soda and water.

The stand will be open from 4 p.m. until the end of the parade. It will be located just east of the Schererville police station along the parade route which runs from downtown Schererville to Redar Park.

All of the donations collected from the sell of the beverages will go towards raising funds for pediatric cancer research.

The Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation provides assistance and counsel to families in the Northwest Indiana and surrounding areas affected by pediatric cancer.
