Lifestyles Gallery will host a book signing by Valparaiso author Lisa Harper on Saturday, April 18 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Lifestyles Gallery, 122 East Lincolnway in Valparaiso. The book, Welcome Home Little Baby, is a recently published children’s book which also includes illustrations by local artist Sandra Martin.
Welcome Home Little Baby is a labor of love for Harper as it was written to welcome her first child, Gabby, when she was adopted in 1998. The 12-page paperback book is written in a catchy rhyming format that appeals to children of all ages. The book’s illustrations complement the story by providing pictures of a true family that shares a life and love but just happens to look different from each other.
“All three of our children are adopted and we’re a trans-racial family so we don’t all look alike,” said Harper. “It’s really a love story that will appeal to all families whether the kids are adopted or multi racial or not,” she said. Harper and husband Harold Harper live in Valparaiso with their three children, Gabby, Jesse, and Monica to whom the book is dedicated.
