Lincolnshire Health and Rehabilitation Partners with 1st in Class Clinical Education to Train CNAs

Lincolnshire Health and Rehabilitation Center has partnered with 1st in Class Clinical Education for their CNA training courses. For the clinical portion of their classwork, students are able to train at Lincolnshire, receiving hands on training and experience to aid them later in their careers.

Students in the course can expect a week of classwork at the Residential Clinical Services office followed by two weeks of clinicals at Lincolnshire.

“We do a week of classroom time at our office and then for two weeks, they come into Lincolnshire and do hands on training. They do the patient care supervised by a clinical instructor,” explained Donna Brandy, Director of Marketing for Residential Clinical Services. “So they’re getting hands on training instead of using a dummy in the classroom, they’re with real people.”

Lincolnshire-1st-CNA-01For Lincolnshire, this partnership offers a unique opportunity to train new CNAs who can help within the facility. This also provides them the ability to hire CNAs who would be a great fit in their facility after they’ve completed their training.

“We’ve partnered with 1st in Class Clinical education and they are providing CNA training for students utilizing our location as the clinical site. They’re here for two weeks doing clinicals and we’re offering to hire on the students once they’ve successfully completed the course, granted that they get their certificate,” said Nathan Wolf, Administrator for Lincolnshire Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Students completing the course can expect some additional perks, according to Wolf, including the opportunity to have their CNA course paid for by the facility. Though they are one of the least expensive courses available in the area, the course still costs nearly $800, meaning students can receive a substantial savings.

“For those that we hire on, we are actually paying for the CNA class. There’s an interview process involved so that we’re ensuring they’ll stay on with us after the class is done and hopefully we’ll see some transition into a successful career as a CNA,” said Wolf.

The first student of the class, Destiny West, has enjoyed the experience thus far. She’s now in her second week of class, meaning her clinicals at Lincolnshire have begun, and she described the experience as educational and exciting.

“I’ve really enjoyed the program. They’re really nice people here,” explained West. “Before this I was a pretty shy person, but being here has really opened me up. I would recommend it to others.”

With the first class closing in on its final week and the next class slated to have even more students, the class is off to a great start in training CNAs. This class brings an amazing opportunity to both students in the area and Lincolnshire themselves.
