MegaBeatles and Marrakesh Express bring fun, nostalgia to Memorial Opera House

MegaBeatles and Marrakesh Express bring fun, nostalgia to Memorial Opera House

On October 9, MegaBeatles will be returning to the Memorial Opera House in downtown Valparaiso for the seventh consecutive year to provide timeless entertainment to the Valpo community and beyond.

The MegaBeatles group is formed from a combination of Northwest Indiana natives and members of The Crawpuppies and Chris and Lou band. Longtime friends Chad Clifford and Lou Samaniego started playing together for fun, but eventually decided to share their talents with the community, thus the MegaBeatles were born.

“I am playing my favorite music for the people of my hometown and some of my best friends are in the audience. You really can’t beat it,” Clifford said. "It gets more and more fun, when all of us really get a part, it sounds so cool, and it excites the whole thing.”

The MegaBeatles are a local favorite, selling out every year they perform. The show is sure to be a night packed full of fun and nostalgia as the band rocks out to numerous hits from John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

The group is also a large part of the Memorial Opera House history, being a staple in their concert series year after year, making this performance special for the group, venue, and fans alike. The MegaBeatles successfully brings the community together each time they perform at Memorial Opera House as they draw a crowd of both returning, loyal fans as well as new fans looking for a fun night of classic music.

However, the fun at Memorial Opera House doesn’t stop with the MegaBeatles. The music-filled fun continues with Marrakesh Express who will also be making an appearance on October 23.

Marrakesh Express is a true rarity as they are dedicated to tributing CSNY, a group that is often hard to replicate due to their three and four-part vocal harmonies that made the group international stars. Marrakesh Express takes fans back to the 1960s with their complex harmonies and authentic hippie vibe.

Not only does the group replicate the impressive harmonies, but they also uphold the integrity of their music with vivid and realistic performances of CSNY’s most recognizable and loved songs.

Those seeking a night that is promised to be one full of fun can secure tickets for only $40 per person for the main floor and balcony seats. Those who want to be a little closer to all the action can purchase orchestra seats for $60 and loge seats for $80. These rates reflect the ticket prices for both the MegaBeatles and Marrakesh Express.

Marrakesh Express and MegaBeatles are sure to exceed expectations and provide a fun night for all concert-goers. If you’re interested in joining in on the fun, act fast as tickets sell quickly.

The goal of the Opera House is to ensure that patrons can attend our shows and concerts in a safe and comfortable environment. Accordingly, the Opera House has established a masking policy that is based on the current Porter County Color Advisory Level as determined by the Indiana State Department of Health. When Porter County is designated as Orange or Red Advisory Level, masks will be required for all visitors, volunteers and staff. The Advisory Level is updated every Wednesday and you can find the current masking guidelines here:  https://memorialoperahouse.com/881/Current-Masking-Policy-At-Memorial-Opera

Both concerts also serve as a fundraiser for the Memorial Opera House Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to connecting the community to the performing arts. To learn more about Memorial Opera House, or to purchase tickets visit its website at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?ticketing=pcmoh.
