Merrillville Intermediate School Students Make Red Ribbon Posters in 2016

Merrillville-Intermediate-School-Red-Ribbon-Poster-2016 Merrillville Intermediate School (MIS) students took part in a creative artwork contest the Lake County Substance Abuse Council (LCSAC) holds for Red Ribbon Week. Out of hundreds of fifth and sixth graders from Merrillville Intermediate School, three student’s posters were submitted to the contest.

Fifth grader Ember Wolstenholme, Fifth grader Christian Gonzalez, and 6Th grader Taliyah Dean were the overall winners from the MIS contest. Their posters have been chosen to represent Merrillville Intermediate School in the LCSAC contest. This is a countywide effort and finalists will be chosen by the LCSAC membership. The grand prize winner of the Poster Contest will receive an amazing prize and have their submission displayed on a billboard in Lake County during the last two weeks of October.

We are so proud of their work and of all the entries our students who participated submitted. We wish everyone the best of luck in the contest!
