On Friday, March 22, Michigan City helped one local small business owner take the next step on his journey. Burn ‘Em Brewing had their ribbon cutting ceremony for their new location right next door to the Blue Chip casino.
The line to get in the door was wrapped around the building as the Michigan City community was filled with enthusiasm for the new location opening its doors. Those in attendance were anxious to see what all the hype was about and needless to say, it lived up to the hype.
“This is definitely something that has been years in the making, and it will totally revitalize this area of downtown Michigan City and make it expand downtown. This is an area that has been an abandoned building for a long time. Seeing it grow from the small little house it was into being here in a bigger facility just shows how important it is for small businesses to grow and continue growing in Michigan City,” said Interim President of Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, Danny Hogan.
Michigan City loves seeing their local small businesses thrive into what they know they can become. This is just one example of the many projects the city has in store.
This new location for Burn ‘Em Brewing was an abandoned building before it was home to this business. Those in Michigan City have high hopes for the new location. With it being right next door to the Blue Chip Casino, there should be no shortage of new customers.
“We are excited about today. We are excited to be here to congratulate one of our staples in Michigan City and really help revitalize this area,” said Hogan.
Growing a business can have its challenges, but the Michigan City community has tried their best to help local business owner, Steve Murray, succeed.
Murray has had some help along the way, but it is because the people of Michigan City believe in his business and want to see it thrive in downtown Michigan City. In seeing this success, there is hope that down the line, more small businesses can follow the path Murray took.
“This building was in very rough shape and as we kept opening stuff, we found so much more that was wrong with it. Hurdle after hurdle, we finally got to the finish line and this place opened a couple weeks ago and it has truly been amazing,” said Steve Murray, owner of Burn ‘Em Brewing.
Starting from the bottom, Murray’s hard work all came to fruition today as he was able to cut the ribbon, introducing his new Burn ‘Em Brewing location. Murray gave a speech in front of everyone in attendance where he went on to thank his staff, his family, and everyone who made his dreams possible.
“It has been a wild ride. I am thankful for Centier Bank for giving us a chance to take on a high risk project. We really appreciate everyone who has made this possible,” said Murray.
