On July 20, 2015, the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) will begin a track and asphalt replacement project in conjunction with a City of Michigan City paving project along the 11th Street corridor from Tennessee to Spring Street. The work is scheduled to be completed around September 11, 2015. The Michigan City Transit Authority would like to announce planned detours to the routes affected by this work.
Route #2 Detour service route schedule: North bound - Lafayette St. - Detroit St. -Cedar St. - 10th Street - Pine St. resuming scheduled route service on Pine St.
No service along following Streets; Detroit St. between Cedar St and Pine. Pine St. between Detroit St. and East 10th Street.
Route #4 Detour service route schedule: South bound – Wabash St. - 10th Street - Franklin St. - Green St. - Wabash St. resuming scheduled route service on Wabash St.
No service along the following area; Wabash St. between 10th Street and Green St.
Route #4 Detour service route schedule: North bound – Wabash St. to Ripley St. to Franklin St. - 10th Street - Wabash St. resuming scheduled route service on Wabash St.
No service in the following area; Wabash St. between Ripley St. and 10th Street.
During construction expect route service schedule delays on all 4 fixed routes due to street closures and detoured high traffic areas. MC Transit is committed to providing quality service to Michigan City.
