Lake County Indiana Economic Alliance (LCEA) works to strengthen not only the economic base of Lake County, but the quality of life in its communities by supporting the growth of business and attracting new investment that by result means more employment opportunities for all of Northwest Indiana. LCEA has been a force to be reckoned with and has helped make Northwest Indiana the breeding ground for investment opportunities for the past eight years.
With the powerhouse that LCEA is, they’ve gained local support from all over the Region. From Hasse Construction to Crow Holdings, and even NIPSCO. NIPSCO has been a big supporter of LCEA since its establishment in Northwest Indiana.
NIPSCO is the leading natural gas and electric utility company servicing Northwest Indiana for over 110 years. NIPSCO’s main goal is to provide safe and reliable energy, natural gas, and electric to over 800,000 gas customers and over 500,000 electric customers. LCEA helps contribute to the success of NIPSCO in this mutually beneficial relationship.
NIPSCO not only provides reliable gas and electricity to the community, but being a part of that community is equally important as well.
“We’re strong supporters of the economic development and new investment within the communities we serve,” Rick Calinski, Director of Public Affairs and Economic Development for NIPSCO, said. As new businesses locate in Northern Indiana, whether it’s commercial or industrial, NIPSCO plays a big part in providing important utility services to support new investment or expansion of their business from the very beginning. Having safe and reliable energy is a very important factor when determining a community to invest in.”
LCEA helps create this growth for not only NIPSCO, but other businesses and community members across Northwest Indiana.
“An organization like LCEA is key to economic growth in Lake County,” Calinski said. LCEA helps identify potential opportunities for new investment and brings everyone to the table. LCEA knows that you can’t have economic development success without bringing the right people to the table.”
Not only does LCEA create economic growth for Lake County, but they bring all of the leaders to the table for these projects.
“Local economic development organizations create strategic relationships. LCEA ensures that NIPSCO, local leaders, the state of Indiana and many other important organizations are at the table. Economic development is a team sport and everyone has to work together to secure new investment and jobs,” Calinski said.
LCEA lands the deals and people from the community make the development work. LCEA makes this process effortless.
“Their knowledge of how economic development works and the network of contacts is what makes LCEA successful,” Calinski said.
LCEA continues to make Lake County a plethora of development and economic success. As long as LCEA is here to connect the dots, Lake County will continue to strive for years and years to come.
