Norman Louis Chouinard, 79 of Westville, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021, at home. He was born September 24, 1941, in Kankakee Township, Illinois to Gerome and Violet (Unger) Chouinard. On October 27, 1991, he married Lila (Whitney) Cole who survives. Also surviving are his children Cherie Johnson of Texas and Dave Chouinard of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his stepsons Joseph (Anita) Bromley of Pewaukee, Wisconsin and David (Renee) Bromley of Westville; three grandchildren Amanda, Connie, and Julian; step-grandchildren Brittnee, Paige, Logan, Dave and Bryce; and one step great-grandson Memphis. His brother Merl Chouinard of Manteno, Illinois, and two sisters Carol Goodrich of Kankakee, Illinois, and Connie Duff of Texas also survive him. Norman was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Marvin. He was a U.S. Airforce veteran and a member of American Legion Post #21 in Westville and the V.F.W. Before retiring, Norman was employed for many years as a Union Carpenter with Carpenter's Local #496. Graveside services with military honors will take place at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
