To meet the growing demand for quality healthcare in La Porte County, Northwest Medical Group and the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of a new medical office building at 6923 West 400 North in Michigan City. The new medical location, Northwest Health’s third in Michigan City, expands the practices of internal medicine physicians Joseph Arulandu, M.D., and Vinay Tumuluri, M.D. The facility also houses Northwest Health Bariatric and Weight Loss Services and Northwest Medical Group – Gastroenterology. Additional physicians will also be seeing patients at the new location in upcoming months.
During the ribbon-cutting event on November 9, Ashley Dickinson, CEO of Northwest Health said, “We’re excited to be able to bring this new building to our portfolio of services. We’ve seen such tremendous growth in Michigan City and this La Porte County corridor over the years. We are pleased to add services here for the patients in the area.”
Dickinson followed up by thanking the Northwest Health team as well as the Michigan City Chamber of Commerce, Holladay Properties and the La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership (LEAP) for their support.
“Dr. Arulandu has practiced across the street for 20 years, and Dr. Tumuluri has served the area for nearly 18 years. Over that time, their practices have grown so much that we needed to create additional space to allow them to grow and continue to provide outstanding care to the community,” Dickinson said.
“Northwest Health has been a fantastic partner to the City of La Porte,” added La Porte Mayor Tom Dermody. “Access to healthcare is incredibly important to the citizens throughout La Porte County, and to be able to provide these opportunities for growth is very exciting for us, and we look forward to many more projects in the future.”
The office is located on 400 North, just east of Johnson Road and next to the La Porte County Library. For more information about Northwest Health, visit NWHealthIN.com.
