The Notre Dame men’s basketball team put forth a tale of two halves in their Tuesday afternoon showdown with Georgia Tech. The Fighting Irish (7-6, 1-1) stumbled out of the gate, posting a season-low shooting percentage in the first half (.281) and trailing by 19 at halftime. Despite a second-half resurgence where they shot 60%, the Irish fell short in a 75-86 loss to the Yellow Jackets (7-7, 1-2).
Tae Davis led the charge for Notre Dame, tying his career-high with 27 points, including 22 in the second half. He went 7-for-9 from the field and 8-for-9 from the free-throw line while adding seven rebounds and three assists. Davis has now notched three consecutive games with 20+ points.
Sophomore guard Braeden Shrewsberry added 12 points, all from beyond the arc, while Matt Allocco chipped in 15 points and matched his season-high of seven assists. Allocco has dished out 18 assists in his last three games.
