NW Indiana ER & Hospital is changing emergency care for the better

Located in Hammond, NW Indiana 24/7 ER & Hospital is a medical facility like no other.

Created as an alternative to traditional emergency treatment, NW Indiana ER & Hospital provides immediate treatment in a comfortable environment.

“My partners and I all came from large health system ERs that were very impersonal,” said Founder Dr. Daniel Irving. “Volumes were high and always increasing.”

NW Indiana ER & Hospital was designed to not only provide faster care but also to make care more personal.

“In large hospital ERs, there is always pressure from the administrative side to move patients through the system quickly while meeting patient satisfaction metrics,” said Irving. “This difficulty to move quickly while meeting the standard of care was increasing.”

Irving and his partners understood the pressure that this placed both on staff and on patients. NW Indiana ER & Hospital is the solution.

Today, NW Indiana ER & Hospital provides personal, high-quality care in an environment that medical staff appreciate as well.

In fact, NW Indiana ER & Hospital’s culture has created a place where local doctors are allowed to thrive.

Dr. Stephanie Eugene, a long-time NW Indiana ER & Hospital physician, has discovered the advantage of this environment.

“I love the patient-centered care that we constantly strive for,” said Eugene. “Our facility is small, and this allows us to spend more time with our patients yet still offer a wide variety of services to the community.”

Operating in a streamlined, friendly environment allows for NW Indiana ER & Hospital to encourage the level of care physicians want to provide and the services customers deserve.

“The cordial, supportive work environment leads to happy, fulfilled team members who treat patients well and constantly exceed expectations,” said Irving. “We have the time to listen to our patients, explain treatment plans, and answer questions.”

Eugene agrees that it’s a combination of the time with patients that supports the mission of what she and other doctors are hoping to provide.

“Basically, we have the time to give patients what they deserve in an ER visit where they may be having one of their worst days,” said Irving. “This is the key difference and what has made it all worth it.”

Everyone on staff at NW Indiana ER & Hospital is proud of what they can offer patients and of where they are hoping to go in the future.

“I'm most proud of how we were able to start with a grand idea of taking back healthcare,” said Irving. “We were able to go through all the myriad steps it takes to build, staff, and ultimately operate an acute care hospital—all in the face of a global pandemic and the associated uncertainties that came with it.”

The staff at NW Indiana ER & Hospital looks forward to growing and continuing throughout 2024. To learn more about NW Indiana 24/7 ER & Hospital, please visit nwindianaer.com.
