Opening: Family Empowerment Program Contract Facilitator (FEP)

Trinity United Church of Christ Gary (TUCCG) will provide program services to the Parents/Guardians of children ages 0-3 years of age. We will utilize the Family Empowerment Program (FEP) Curriculum. The program consists of cohorts of no more than 15 participants. Training will be delivered virtually, with the exception of a few scheduled face-to-face sessions. Each cohort is 13 weeks in length, for 2 hours on consecutive Saturdays.

Facilitators will be certified and are required to attend 5 paid training sessions in order to be certified in the FEP curriculum and delivery. Family Empowerment Program Trainer Certification is provisional, conditional, and non-transferable. FEP curriculum and other adult learning competencies will be covered during Train-the-Trainer. An assessment will be required for successful completion of the FEP Training certification process.

Qualifications: Candidates must have educational and/or work experience in providing adult education and have a track record serving as a family and parent advocate. These are preferred qualifications.

Skill sets:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Proficiency with the use of digital collaborative workspaces (G-Suite, Teams, etc.)
  • Proficiency with the use of virtual meeting spaces (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to counsel and troubleshoot with families
  • Patience and adaptability
  • A high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Great conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities:

  • Successful participation and completion of FEP Train the Trainer (Facilitator)
  • Successful completion of at least two facilitation observations by the Program Director. • Application of learned strategies and competencies in interactions with FEP participants and organization staff
  • Participate in implementation planning and delivery of training
  • Attend and participate in all TTT sessions
  • Attend and participate in TUCC program administration meetings
  • Facilitate all FEP sessions
  • Deliver Training Orientation & Twelve 2 hours sessions of training content with fidelity to up to fifteen participants per cohort
  • Formulate pre, post, and interim supporting written/verbal communications to participants regarding program, content, and logistical information
  • Track attendance and participation during sessions
  • Obtain and submit data, media, and permissions necessary for reports and program evaluation & promotion
  • Facilitate make-up sessions
  • Support participants (individually and communally) throughout the training duration
  • Promote Family Empowerment Program for organization

Rate of Pay: The rate of pay is $75.00 per hour and paid on a monthly basis (A schedule will be provided).

Facilitators are independent contractors, not employees, and therefore responsible for their own taxes.

Number of Openings: We will contract with a total of 4 Facilitators
