Park Place of St. John Offers a Solution for Senior Care

For someone looking for a caring environment for a loved one, the number of options and resources available can be overwhelming. Park Place of St. John is a beautiful facility offering compassionate care for seniors at various stages of their lives.

Park Place of St. John offers Memory Care, Retirement Living, Skilled Nursing, and Rehabilitation Services. With their parent company, Providence Life Services, boasting 100 years of experience and their individual campus having 14 acres dedicated to the facilities, the Park Place of St. John community is tailored to specific senior needs.

“Our approach, regardless of the level of care that seniors are at when they walk in, is that we want to be the solution,” said Beth Cunningham, Director of Independent Living.

Being a solution means continuing care as seniors move through the various stages of aging. Park Place of St. John offers specialized care as residents gradually need additional services and also tailors programs to fit resident needs and desires.

“We have a variety of life enrichment opportunities. We have two life-enrichment directors: one specializing in independent living and one on the skilled nursing and rehabilitation side. They are very in tune with the resident population,” explained Cunningham.

Residents are able to participate in these activities and enjoy life without restriction. Care is based on resident decision, and they are able to choose when they eat, sleep, and what they participate in. Additionally, Park Place of St John encourages family involvement and leaves them an open invitation to programs and activities throughout the facility.

“Family has an open invitation to any of our events. They often come in at dinnertime, but as far as activities, it’s an open invitation for anything we have,” said Cunningham.

Having such an open, caring facility has certainly paid off for Park Place of St. John. They currently have 60 independent living apartments and 50 skilled nursing beds, with plans to expand in the future.

Of course, food is always at the top of conversation as people consider moving themselves or a loved one into a facility. With weight loss, nutrition, and taste being top concerns, people are sure to ask what the cuisine is like.

“Every single tour we give, every phone conversation, food is always one of the top topics. We have a chef here who came with tremendous experience with hospital and senior living dining. We have two or three entree options every evening for dinner here and they are full meals. There is a lot of opportunity for them to choose what works,” said Cunningham.

The facilities are even designed in a way that encourages healthy eating and participation in mealtimes.

“Many folks put on a few healthy pounds here. They sit and have a family meal every single meal and it’s like someone’s home,” said Cunningham.

With a modern facility, a caring staff, and a parent company with over 100 years of experience in senior care, Park Place of St. John is a wonderful facility with the ability and expertise to care for seniors.
