Patrick Industries announces plans to open a new facility in La Porte, IN

Representatives from Patrick Industries joined Mayor Tom Dermody and the La Porte City Council on Monday to announce plans to open a new facility in La Porte creating up to 31 new jobs in the community by 2025.

“La Porte is a community on the rise. We are thrilled to partner with an industry leader such as Patrick Industries and this project will provide high-quality employment opportunities for our residents,” said Mayor Tom Dermody.

Patrick Industries will invest several million dollars to equip a new 60,000 square-foot-facility in the Thomas Rose Industrial Park. The company will occupy the new spec industrial building being constructed by Quincy Development. The new facility will be well-positioned geographically for the company while allowing access to La Porte’s skilled workforce.

Patrick Industries is a major manufacturer and distributer of component and building products for the recreational vehicle, marine and manufactured housing industries. Founded in 1959, Patrick Industries employs 9,500 people at over 170 manufacturing and distribution facilities located in the United States, Canada, and China.

“We are excited to be working with the City of La Porte on this project. Our goal is to build a long-lasting partnership with the community. We want to thank the City, Mayor Dermody, Bert Cook, and the La Porte City Council for their support,” said Senior Vice President Hugo Gonzalez.

“Indiana has earned national recognition for its strength in manufacturing as the highest concentration of manufacturing jobs in the country,” said Interim Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Staton. “It’s rewarding to support companies like Patrick Industries that continue to thrive here, and I’m confident our business climate and high-quality talent pipeline will support their continued success for years to come.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Patrick Industries Inc. up to $360,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's plans to create up to 31 new jobs by the end of 2024. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning the company is eligible to claim incentives once Hoosiers are hired. The City of La Porte offered the company tax abatement on the personal property investments made by the company.
