Peifer Elementary Students are Taken on a Silly Safari Adventure

On Feb. 9, the students of Peifer were taken on a Silly Safari adventure.

The Silly Safari is a group that branches out of Indianapolis. They have a collection of animals that they go around and share with schools, churches, and many other community groups.

At Peifer, Amazon John, one of the two men who run the Safari, met with each grade level separately and shared his animals. Amazon John related different attributes of each animal to fit with their grade level’s science standard: Rainforest, animal coverings, adaptations to environments, homes, and endangered species.

He mixes his presentation with audience participation, humor, and tons of factual information regarding the animals he brought. Students were shocked at some of the bizarre animals he brought, but they all loved it.
