The Girls’ Swim team placed 5th this weekend at the Duneland Conference Swim Meet Top 16 Finishers -

Erika McEwan - 14th in 200 Freestyle, 15th in 100 Freestyle
Jordan Simmons - 15th in 200 Freestyle, 14th in 500 Freestyle
Sierra King - 5th in 200 I.M., 3rd in 100 Breaststroke
Courtney Joseph - 13t in 20 I.M.,
Lauren Haddox - 7th in Diving
Jordan Parker - 15th in 100 Fly, 10th in 100 Backstroke
Jessica Palos - 16th in 100 Backstroke
In Wrestling Portage placed 3rd in the DAC Championship meet. Champions for Portage were Julian Torres 125 weight class, Luis Acuna 135 and Jessie Duque was runner- up in 112 weight class.
In girls’ basketball, Portage lost in yet another close game losing to Valpo by 1 point 37-38. Anglea Buchanan scored 14 points and Nikki Monahan led the Indians with 17. (overall 2-11, DAC 0-9) The JV team escaped with a 1-point win against Valpo 31-30. The team played great defense. Randi Marshall led the Indians with 8 points (overall 10-3, DAC 6-3)
On Friday night the boys’ varsity team lost to Valpo 46-72. Tony Checky and Brandon Hall both with 10 points, Skyler Moss 9 points and 7 rebounds. The JV team lost Gage Pearman had 18 points and 11 rebounds.
On Saturday night the boys’ varsity team played Boone Grove and came away with a 60-53 win. Tony Cheky 18 points and 4 assists, Lawrence Jones18 points and 7 rebounds, Skyler Moss 10 points and 15 rebounds. The JV team won 43-37. C.J. Haupt 13 points and Scott Burian 8 points.
