Portage High School Senior Jade McKnight signed her national letter of intent this past Wednesday to spend her college years in Kalamazoo Michigan jumping for the Western Michigan Broncos. Jade, who came to Portage during her sophomore year, has been a vital part of the girls team.
Along with being a long jumper, she has run sprints (55-100-200-400) and been a part of the 4 x 200 relay team and the school record 4 x 100 team. She is a 3-time sectional champion (4 x 100 and Long Jump) and qualified for the state finals in the long jump last track season.
She is currently the 5th ranked long jumper in the state of Indiana with an indoor jump of 17'-5.5".
Jade joins Tori Bliss (Louisiana State Tigers) as the second Girls Track & Field Athlete from Portage High School to sign with a Division 1 school.
