Pierogi Fest – Just Like Celebrating Christmas in July!

Pierogi Fest – Just Like Celebrating Christmas in July!

When you think of the Christmas season you think of dressing to stay warm as you take in the sights and sounds of the season, good cheer, great food and giving gifts. These are also aspects of Pierogi Fest! The comparison of Christmas and Pierogi Fest demonstrates that there is a direct correlation, the difference is that you can be scantily glad and still be warm!

Pierogi Fest features great food, more than 50 acts on 7 stages, terrific souvenirs suitable for those who like to shop early for Christmas and colorful characters like Mr. PierogiMr. Halupki Guy and Ms. Paczki (none of whom will come done your chimney)

According to the American Academy of Holiday Studies at Southeastern Adjacent College of Northern Manitoba South, attending Pierogi Fest will place one in the holiday mood, especially after you realize 16-oz beers are only $6.00! According to a detailed scientific study conducted by the college, the more attendees drink, the more likely it is for them to see the correlation between the festival and Christmas. And stepping into one of the festival’s air-conditioned bathroom trailers can cause a momentary feeling that you might be in December instead of July.

Pierogi Fest will be held this Friday July 28th (11AM to 11PM), Saturday July 29th (11 AM to 11 PM) and Sunday July 30th (11AM to 5PM) in Downtown Whiting, Indiana, located on the shores of Lake Michigan. The festival offers more than 75 food booths with more than 1,200 menu items, 2 beer gardens, 55 arts & crafts and tchotchke vendors, 7 stages featuring a wide variety of music, and the craziest parade ANYWHERE (parade is Friday at 7 PM).  As a special event, a free concert by Smash Mouth on our main stage will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 8:30 PM, sponsored by Hard Rock Casino, and a special salute to 70’s Disco and 80’s Rock on Friday night following the wacked out parade on the Main and Sheridan Avenue Stages.
