PNC Community Festival and Fireworks Celebration

Purdue University North Central will host a Community Festival and Fireworks Celebration on Aug. 22, on the PNC Westville campus. A variety of festival activities will begin at 4 p.m. and will culminate with the fireworks at approximately 10 p.m. Parking on campus as well as admission to the fireworks are free.

Students, families, alumni and community members are all welcome to attend. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, coolers, blankets and bug spray for the event. Soft drinks, grilled food and other snacks will be available for purchase. Purdue North Central is a smoke-free and alcohol-free campus.

The day's schedule of events includes:

        4 to 8 p.m. - Business Information Fair Under Tent

        4 to 9 p.m. - Cruise Night Auto Show

        5 to 7 p.m. - Nursing Alumni Reunion

        5 to 7 p.m. - Education Alumni Reunion

        5 to 8:30 p.m. - Food and soft drinks available for purchase

        5 to 9 p.m. - Children's Games and Activities. Some charges may apply.

        8:30 to 9:30 p.m. - Soft drinks only available for purchase.

        10 p.m. - Fireworks Celebration (approximate time).

        There will be music on the campus plaza throughout events.

The electrifying show will be set to music and is appropriate for all ages. In case of rain or severe weather, activities will be held Aug. 23.

Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items to help replenish area food pantries.
