Behold the Star!
Portage First United Methodist Church
On Sunday, December 8, the Portage First United Methodist Church choir will present their annual Christmas Musical, "Behold the Star!" This musical celebration, which combines both familiar and new songs, will be presented at all three worship services: 8:30, 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. In addition, the youth choir will also provide music. This musical, written by Lloyd Larson, will help put the Christmas celebration in the right perspective.

Portage Township Trustee
Brendan Clancy, Portage Township Trustee, would like to thank all the generous people who donate to help struggling families at Thanksgiving in Portage Township. Four Thanksgiving baskets were donated by Konrady Plastics. Baskets of groceries were organized and donated by Portage First United Methodist Church. Portage High School Student Council collected 25 Thanksgiving baskets and Nativity of Our Savior Youth donated 10 Thanksgiving baskets. Fifty turkeys were donated in memory of Chuck Haskell; Chuck started the turkey donation years ago through the Trustee's office and Beef Mart with Samuelson Insurance's, Ken Lorenz, Ken Elwood of Rhame and Elwood and Mike Lovings of Lovings Heating and Cooling.
Co-ed Youth Indoor Soccer
Boys & Girls Club Valparaiso
Parents of youth ages 5-12 can help their children have fun and stay active this winter by signing them up for co-ed youth indoor soccer leagues at Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County's Valparaiso Unit. Registration ends on December 6, 2013 and divisions are filling up quickly.
