Portage-Community-Was-the-Big-Winner-at-2016-Tri-Kappa-Boutique-Bingo-FundraiserBased on the great attendance and participant feedback, the 2016 Portage Tri Kappa Boutique Bingo fundraiser, held on October 16th at Duneland Falls Banquet Center in Portage, was definitely a success! Hosted by the non-profit Portage Zeta Mu Chapter of Tri Kappa Sorority, the monies raised at the annual major fundraiser event will go a long way in making it possible for the Portage Tri Kappa organization to carry out their philanthropic endeavors in the greater Portage community.

Amidst wonderful social interaction and the winning of fabulous bingo-game prizes, the "Not Your Grandma's Bingo" Boutique Bingo fundraiser provided even more fun with over-flowing themed raffle baskets, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle - and all for a great cause! Happy participants also had the opportunity to shop, admiring the goods of popular area vendors, as well as to partake of delicious appetizers, desserts, and popcorn to snack on!

In her welcoming address, Shellie Kramer, Tri Kappa member and past president, explained the organization's mission: "Bringing women into close, unselfish relationship for the promotion of charity, culture, and education is the cornerstone of Kappa, Kappa, Kappa, Inc., commonly known as Tri Kappa. We are a philanthropic organization which uniquely exists only within the boundaries of the state of Indiana. Our own Portage Zeta Mu Chapter, comprised of 31 volunteer members, was founded in 1967. We are fifty years old next year and looking good! Where there is a community need, you will find a Tri Kappa member. Today, we'd like to thank all of our generous corporate, local small business, and individual sponsors of this event - as well as all of you wonderful women helping the community by attending today - so give yourselves a big round of applause as well!"

In keeping with Tri Kappa's dedication to serving, invited to call out bingo numbers at the event were three women very much respected for their own contributions to the greater Portage community: Dr. Debra Dudek, Assistant Superintendent of Portage Township Schools; Rebecca Reiner, Director of Neighbors' Educational Opportunities (NEO); and Mignon Kennedy, Executive Director of Gabriel's Horn homeless women and children shelter.

Kappa Kappa Kappa, Inc., founded in 1901, is comprised of 146 active chapters and 114 associate chapters, totaling about 9,000 actively participating members statewide.
