Portage High School to host College and Career Fair

Portage High School will host its annual College and Career Fair on Wednesday, October 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the PHS Commons (Door B). The fair is open to juniors and seniors.

In addition to college and university representation, technical schools, the military, and apprenticeship programs will be represented. The event is made possible in conjunction with Junior Achievement and Portage Economic Development Corporation.

This is an opportunity for juniors and seniors to begin the process of communicating directly with representatives from colleges, universities, trade programs, and military recruiters. Families are encouraged to attend with their child (limit two adults per student), and juniors and seniors from local school districts are also welcome.

Students may pre-register for the event through StriveFair.com. This process will allow college reps to scan students’ individual barcodes, eliminating the need to fill out registration cards at each individual table.

This year, we ask that all attendees wear a mask in compliance with INACAC college fair guidelines.

At 5:30 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m., PHS will also be hosting a Financial Aid presentation in the LGI room at 5:30 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m. A representative from Purdue University Northwest’s Financial Aid Office will be discussing the financial aid process and giving an overview of how to fill out the FAFSA.
