The Portage Porpoise Swim Club (PPSC) is seeking an individual to become a qualified coach who works well with children. Must be 18 years old and be a high school graduate.
The PPSC Learn-to-Swim program is designed to instruct and guide swimmers ages five and older with different swimming abilities into “team ready” swimmers. (Note: although it is not a requirement that swimmers join the swim team upon completion of our Learn to Swim program, parents should understand that preparing children to join the team is the focus of our lessons).
Skills taught: comfort in the water, basic water safety, breath control, beginning stroke technique, freestyle and backstroke basics, and endurance.
Once swimmers complete the Learn-to-Swim program, they will be evaluated to determine their readiness to join our swim team. Swimmers who are not ready may continue with additional 8-week sessions of Learn to Swim as needed.
