Portage Township Schools Aim to Increase Family Communication With Peachjar

Portage-Township-Schools-LogoIn an effort to increase parents communication and save paper throughout the school district, Portage Township Schools will be utilizing a new program that allows newsletters and fliers to be emailed to families.

Peachjar will work in conjunction with SchoolMessenger to email families copies of important communications from Portage Township Schools. Families can expect to begin receiving these communications now.

Emails will be sent to the addresses families provided during online registration.

Peachjar will eliminate the need for PTS schools to make copies of fliers and newsletters that were previously distributed to students to bring home. Additionally, having the information emailed ensures that it arrives in the families’ hands.

Local organizations who have previously promoted their programs with Portage Township Schools are welcome to use the platform as well for a fee of $25 per school. Multischool discounts are available. Benefits of using Peachjar include saving money and time on making paper copies of fliers; additionally, the fliers will be sent directly to PTS families.

All fliers from local organizations must be approved by the school district prior to distribution.

Once school and community fliers have been emailed to families, they are posted to each school’s Peachjar site, which can be accessed through the “Announcements” button on the PTS website’s homepage.

Questions can be directed to PTS Director of Communications Melissa Deavers-Lowie at (219)762-6511.
