Saylor Elementary
Saylor students in Mrs. Rodenbarger's 2nd grade class read " The Best Part of Me" by Wendy Ewald. Students then picked their favorite part about themselves and wrote about it, letting us know why it's their favorite. Their stories are accompanied with a picture showing off their favorite part of themselves. It's one of our favorite projects to see!
Myers Elementary
Third graders at Myers Elementary played a few games of "Jail Break Dodgeball" to celebrate making their AR goal. Those students who meet monthly AR goals get to play dodgeball against their teachers.
PHS French 1
Students in Mme Flynn’s French 1 class were using the game Quizlet.live to study a new set of vocabulary. Students are randomly assigned to groups and must work together to quickly determine the right answer to a variety of vocabulary-based questions. The first team to get all 12 answers correct (in a row!) earns an extra credit point each. Students must collaborate with their group members, as each student is only given partial information to solve the problem, and getting an answer wrong sends you all the way back to zero! While this game is nothing new to the French classroom, it is the first time it was used in this new class of students. There are 43 kids in this class, and even with such a large group, students played several intense, highly competitive rounds of the game. This game gave students the chance to get to know many new faces as they challenged other groups to see who would get to the end first!
