Portage Township Schools Update, November 9, 2018

Crisman Elementary
We had the Honor of several Veterans joining us today at Crisman Elementary School in Honor of Veteran's Day. The students gathered around the Flag for the Pledge of Allegiance, Songs, and Veteran's Day Explanations. We ended with Deborah Moulton playing "Taps" on her trumpet. Deborah Moulton is Witten Miller's grandmother. He is in Mrs. Utterback's first grade class.

Kyle Elementary
Mrs. Banaski's 2nd grade students had fun getting messy and learning math using pumpkins on Halloween. Student's labeled, listed, sorted, estimated, measured, counted, and had a great time!

Myers Elementary
2nd grade students at Myers enjoy reading to their turtle reading buddies each day! The reading buddies were donated by The United Way and Allen Law Group. Students love having "someone" listen to them read their AR books each day.

Saylor Elementary
Saylor student council participated in the city of Portage's annual rake day. Adults and kids brought rakes and leaf blowers to help the city’s senior citizens clean up their yards. It was an awesome day and the citizens of Portage appreciated it so much.

PHS MCJROTC
On 2 November 2018 cadets from Portage Marine Corps Junior ROTC celebrated the 243rd birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Mrs. Ann Marie Caballero, Principal of Fegely Middle School, was the Guest of Honor. The evening began with the traditional Marine Corps cake cutting ceremony and culminated in several hours of dancing by the cadets. A great time was had by all & we would like to thank Mrs. Caballero for her support of the program.
