Porter County Library Offering New Services in 2015

porter-county-public-librarySeptember is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when the Porter County Public Library System joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure that every citizen has the most important card of all in their possession - a free library card.

Our library system offers access to a variety of print and digital resources, including nearly 5,500 eBooks, over a dozen electronic databases, genealogy resources, and a vast array of print materials. Recent additions to our collection include subscriptions to nearly one hundred eMagazines, streaming movies from IndieFlix, and a growing collection of eAudio books. The Porter County library system has also recently begun to accept online fine payments.

Today's libraries aren't only a place of quiet study, but also creative and engaging community centers where students can improve their digital literacy skills with instruction from skilled library professionals, adults can use our career resources to search for jobs and improve their resumes, and all members of the community can gain enrichment through library sponsored programming and workshops.

The Porter County Public Library System has evolved in recent years to offer more electronic and digital format collections to meet the needs of our patrons, in addition to providing new services and programs. Visit our website at pcpls.org, or one of our five branches, located in Valparaiso, Portage, South Haven, Hebron, or Kouts to see how much the library can do for you and your family.
