A fit-friendly worksite meets the requirements set by the American Heart Association that meet a healthy work environment. There are four levels of achievement running from Community Innovation all the way up to Gold Level.
To reach Gold Level an organization must fulfill certain criteria such as offering physical activity support, promoting a wellness culture, and increased healthy eating options. There must be 25 or more employees at the worksite and the organization must meet a minimum of six physical criteria, two nutritional criteria, and one cultural criteria - all of which are listed on the application form.
