Preparing for the Biology ECA with a Little Competition

PHS-Biology-Classes-Krause-vs-BowersTesting season is the most stressful time of the year for both students and teachers. The students have been testing for the last 2 weeks and are ready for summer. How could the teachers take students that were done for the year to get them prepared for the biology ECA? Melissa Bowers came up with an idea that the classes would enjoy while learning, competition! She called it Battle of the classes, Krause versus Bowers.

The students were geared up to crush each other. They came together as a class and put forth an effort to Study. They would even try to out answer the other class while reviewing. The competition was broken up into 4 battles. Battle one was teacher versus teacher. The groups had to come up with biology questions to ask each teacher. The second battle was class versus class, where the teachers took turns asking them questions. For each group that correctly answered the question, the team received a point. The third battle was the student versus student speed round, and the final battle closed the deal for the winning class. In this battle, the groups had to write everything they knew about a unit, such as Cellular Respiration. This final score between 4 of the classes was Krause 2 wins, Bowers 1 win and 1 tie.
