The Purdue Alumni Club of Northwest Indiana would like to announce that its 2017 scholarship application is now available.
The Purdue Alumni Club of Northwest Indiana’s Purdue Scholar Award is available to current Purdue Students who have completed their freshman year at any of the Purdue campuses and are continuing on to their sophomore year. The criteria for the scholarship are as follows:
- Must be enrolled in or have completed at least 24 credit hours at Purdue
- Must have a permanent residence in a county within the Club area. (Counties include: Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Jasper and Newton)
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Must not be a recipient of a full scholarship
Jeff Semko, chairman of the scholarship committee, urged all current Purdue freshmen to apply for this prestigious award. “We really try to seek out those who are truly the best and brightest students from the Northwest Indiana area”, remarked Semko. He went on to add, “while the club currently receives a good amount of applications each year for the award, we would love to receive even more.”
Mike Moskalick, President of the Purdue Alumni Club of Northwest Indiana stated, “our club has an extremely rich tradition of awarding scholarships, stretching back several decades, thanks to our generous donors and highly engaged board of directors.” Moskalick continued by saying that he “looks forward to meeting this years recipients at the clubs annual scholarship reception in June.”
Applications for the Purdue Scholar Award must be postmarked by March 25th, 2017.
