As a Purdue Master Gardener, you’ve learned about gardening and home horticulture, and teaching those subjects in your community. Now’s the time to take the next step- becoming a leader. Sign up today for the Master Gardener Leadership Training Course, a leadership development training program available to certified Purdue Master Gardeners of all Indiana counties. In 5 sessions, you will learn about:
- Your own personality type and those of others
- The nature of leadership and how to communicate
- Working with others Leading groups and running effective meetings
- Managing conflict
You’ll learn from your personal experiences and self-assessments, small group activities and discussions, online leadership webinars, and real-life applications. What you’ll earn is:
- A Purdue Master Gardeners Growing Through Leadership Certificate upon successful completion of the program
- Personal growth as a leader
- The confidence to share your new understanding of leadership development with others
- The ability to use your leadership skills in service as Purdue Master Gardeners and in your community
The cost of the program is $30 and it is available to all current Indiana Master Gardeners. There are 5 sessions to attend: 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, and 12/10. The sessions will be held from 1pm-4pm at PNC – Valparaiso Undergraduate Building, 600 Vale Park Road in Valparaiso. Application deadline is October 15.
