Renter, mortgage and utility assistance available for residents impacted by COVID-19

According to the Indiana Housing Community and Development Authority, Indiana residents who are unable to pay their rent or mortgage due to a loss of wages or other impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for financial assistance.

In order to qualify for this program, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be an Indiana resident
  • Currently rent your home or are currently experiencing homelessness
  • Do not reside in Marion County, as Marion County has its own program
  • Show you are negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Property you are seeking assistance for must be your primary residence

Homeowners who are in need of financial assistance can contact 877-GET-HOPE or visit 877gethope.org.

In addition to rental or mortgage assistance, those negatively impacted by COVID-19 may also be eligible for the Energy Assistance Program, which helps families cover the cost of their utilities.
