Portage Youth Basketball hosted its First Annual Three-On-Three Basketball Tournament. There were eight (8) teams from the Junior Boys Division which are Forth and Fifth Graders. There were six (6) teams from the Iddy Biddy Division which are Second and Third Graders with some First Graders participating. Thanks to President Andy Maletta and other Board Members for helping to run the Tournament.
Because of the success of this Tournament, Portage Youth Basketball will be hosting another tournament towards the first week of February.
First place teams received a trophy and the second place teams received a medal.
The Champions are as follows:
Iddy Biddy Division coached by Mike Bruno. Players: Danny Bruno, Miguel Verduszco, and the Nathaniel Alexander.
Second Place team coached by Rob Warchus. Players: Tommy Elwood, Zach Warchus, Iziah Cowger, and Zander Marcotte.
First place team when undefeated throughout the Tournament. The second place team went into the losers bracket in the early rounds having lost to the eventual champion. The championship game ended in sudden death overtime with the champion team prevailing.

Second Place Team coach Rob Russell and Craig Kitchen. Players: Cody Russell, Kenny Clasen, Job Kitchen and William Soares.
The championship team went undefeated. The second place team again lost to the championship team in the early rounds and fought its way through the losers bracket having played six (6) games that day. The championship game was a very hard fought battle with the championship team prevailing. Again, great game boys and great effort. Go Portage!
