Riley Elementary School has successfully achieved Heart Safe School Certification through Project ADAM, strengthening the City of La Porte's commitment to cardiac emergency preparedness.
The certification process, completed on December 5th, involved collaboration between Riley Elementary staff, Tonya Aerts, Julie West, and Tabitha Hughes with her LPHS HOSA-Future Health Professionals team, as well as La Porte's EMS, Police, and Fire Department first responders.
Project ADAM certification ensures schools can respond effectively to cardiac emergencies through comprehensive emergency response programs, staff training, and the proper placement and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Riley Elementary joins other LPCSC schools in achieving this vital safety certification, demonstrating the district's ongoing dedication to student and staff wellbeing.
