Sacred Heart Catholic Church (corner of Bach and Pulaski) LaPorte IN is pleased to announce that by God’s grace we will be breaking ground for a new Parish Activity Center on September 22nd 2013.
The new building will be built adjacent to the existing Church on Bach Street and will be connected by a breezeway allowing free access between the buildings. The Activity Center will provide the Church with office space, a spacious meeting/conference room and a new social/fellowship hall with kitchen. The hall will be an especially welcome addition as the current hall is in a basement and is not handicap accessible. This building project comes after many years of planning and five years of sacrificial giving to our building fund campaign.
The new building will provide an accessible and modern home to many existing ministries and open up new ministry opportunities.
A blessing of the building site and ceremonial groundbreaking will take place on Sunday September 22nd after the 8:00 am Mass. Refreshments will be served following to celebrate the occasion.
It is particularly significant for the parish to break ground for this project at this time as 2013 is our 100th anniversary year. Therefore, as we celebrate 100 years of proclaiming Christ and our Catholic Faith in LaPorte we are also building for our future.
