Seamus Glennon Named Valpo Director of Sports Performance for Men’s Basketball

The Valparaiso University Department of Athletics has welcomed Seamus Glennon to its staff as Director of Sports Performance for Men’s Basketball.

Glennon will lead all aspects of strength and conditioning and sports performance for the men’s basketball program.

“I’m excited to join Valpo because of the common goals of growth and service,” Glennon said. “I’m thankful for the school and staff for providing me this opportunity to be a part of what’s to come.”

Glennon previously served as a strength & conditioning assistant for the VCU men’s basketball program, a position he held for the last two seasons. He previously worked at Temple University, handling strength & conditioning for Olympic sports in 2021. He also served as a football strength & conditioning intern for Clemson University in 2021.

Glennon, who holds multiple strength & conditioning certifications, is a 2022 graduate of Temple University with a degree in exercise and sport science and a 2024 product of VCU with a master’s in sport leadership.

“Seamus is a huge addition to our staff,” head men’s basketball coach Roger Powell Jr. said. “He has great experience, energy and understanding. He trained under a great mentor at VCU and has experience with Clemson football, Temple basketball and VCU basketball. He has awesome experience that we needed to continue to develop our program and push it forward.”
